The colour of folk

Ask anyone what colour they think of when hearing folk music and the answer may well be sepia, or at least dull browns and greens. Not so this year at the 50th Whitby Folk Week. Among the dance teams appearing was Gog Magog Molly, a violently vibrant treat for the eyes. I'd photographed them a couple of times in recent years and was pleased to see them gracing the old town in the bright August sunshine. And nice to see them integrating inconspicuously down by the shops. More photos here.
