Party on the Lawn

Party on the Lawn is the annual one-day music festival at Prebendal Farm, Bishopstone, near Swindon. It is run by professional musicians and singers, Chris While and Julie Matthews, and Chris' daughter Kellie, also an amazing singer. We went to the first 'Party' in 2004 and this year they were celebrating ten years since that first festival and also twenty years as a professional duo. We were honoured to be invited as guests to the event, held in the beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds at the farm.

Performers included Blair Dunlop and father Ashley Hutchings (Fairport Convention, Albion Band etc.), Edwina Hayes, Elbow Jane, Chris Leslie (also Fairport Convention), and various combinations of Chris, Julie, Kellie and Helen Watson. All in all the day was fantastic. The sun blazed down on the canopied stage, the wine flowed, the hogs were roasted and the audience relaxed in their folding chairs. The entertainment was continuous from midday to midnight. An astounding success!
